HimaJomo

(Perfume BRAND)

THE CHALLENGE

We needed to offer people a quiet and mystical experience. It was about creating a connection to Himalayas
through different mediums. The challenge was to create a visual language that either match a rustic identity infused with a modern approach. All while avoiding any over-polished image that wouldn't send the right message.

THE SOLUTION

Through photography; by merging classic film language with more polished pictures.

Thanks to Vittoria and Randry, I got the opportunity to dive deep into the mutiples sides of the Himalayas.
An incredibly creative place with millions of layers of nature. An expression full of sounds, people and infinite landscapes.
Together, we designed the entirety of the Art Direction and creative language from scratch.

The name, hima jomo, is the combination of two symbols that dear to the brand: "Hima" for "Himalaya",
and "Jomo" which means "Holy Mother" in Tibetan. It is also the acronym for "Joy Of Missing Out".

Hima Jomo is a perfume house, that inspire itself from nature and Himalaya with spiritual dimension in the design.

THE CHALLENGE

THE OUTCOME

HimaJomo

The Himalayas are home to thousands of immense natural resources, brimming with extraordinary olfactory and sensory virtues.
Paying homage to the diverse natural beauty of the Himalayan landscape, hima jomo presents contemporary perfumes inspired by the harmony
found within the rich cultures, landscapes and traditions of this hidden sanctuary.

One look at the mighty landscape and towering snow-peaks, and we are mesmerized forever. Stunning mountains, dense temperate forests, dazzling snow that reflects the sunlight, deep alluring chasms, winding rivers, rich varied bio-diversity and innumerable legends; all these describe the incredible Himalayas. ‘Hima’ meaning snow and ‘Alaya’ meaning ‘abode’ in Sanskrit, the mountains are a major part of the lives of Tibetans, Indians, Nepalis and many others who live in proximity to these grand mountains.

The design

The design of hima jomo’s perfume cap is inspired by Tibetan black clay (designed by Loïc Paradot) – a material used in the daily life of highland nomads for thousands of years, and topped by the brand’s monogram - the ambigram of the brand’s initials “h” and “j”, modeled as a peak and a root coming from the sky, alongside the earth to draw the forces of nature.

The orientation of the texts on the bottle, vertical, like the original logo of the house, is inspired by the Tibetan sacred texts – the mantras.

The beautiful logotype of the brand as been designed by Madeline Piersman.

Movements

As nature keeps moving, it was important to add this sensation in the photographs. To create something that is always changing, something that we can barely catch.
